The Walter Bischoff company is now in its third generation of serving its customers and was founded on 3 October 1938 in Offenbach am Main.
Initially, the company mainly supplied regional customers from the leather goods manufacturing industry and expanded its portfolio over time by adding various agencies for specific industry products.
When the management of the company was handed over to the nephew of the company founder at the end of the 1960s, he quickly recognised the opportunity to expand the customer base in the case industry and increasingly in other sectors with his own plastic production.
The demand for customised accessories in the leather goods industry, combined with ever faster delivery cycles, prompted the installation of an additional zinc foundry on the company premises in 1986.
A company strategy adapted to the changes, combined with rising production costs, led to the decision to abandon the Seligenstadt production site in 1999. In addition to accessories, consumer goods were to be added to the portfolio from now on.
Existing contacts were utilised and expanded, and the company began importing textiles and advertising materials in 2002.
The Chinese procurement market was growing rapidly, which led to the addition of Chinese employees to the workforce.
The expertise from the company’s own metal and plastics processing days still characterises Walter Bischoff GmbH today and has made it a successful importer of special items, among other things.
